I'm pretty sure that milkshape 3d can handle those too.

GameStudio A5 MDL & Serious Sam MDL are the supported MDLs in MilkShape 3D 1.8.0.

Does anyone knows which editor "handles" NWN's MDL?

I'd almost swear I've seen neverwinter nights on the list in Milkshape. What are you trying to do exactly? Maybe we can give a different solution.

Use NWN models in my game. Well, not the official ones, the free ones.

I think NWN MDL is also supported by Milkshape, just as several others. BTW: When I talked about mdl files elsewhere I meant Quake MDL.

NWN .mdl doesn't seem to be supported in my version of milkshape, just gamestudio and serious sam as mentioned before.

(So hoping I'll get the answer here without creating another thread cause it's still bout the subject) How can I load the NWN .mdl models in my game?

You need a tool to handle this format. There's also a small amount of information on NWN mdl files on the net. So you could also try to make your own loader.

Ok, I'll search the net for it!

I don't have a clue on making loaders to formats like those but just for the fun of learning, can someone shed a light on the subject?

Thank you all!

Im surprised hybrid didnt mention this: http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=19815 project... (Posting full url for visibility, yeah I know it lacks style.)

Infact, taken right out of that thread:
hybrid wrote:Hmm, MDL is not really an important format anymore. Moreover, the md2 code seems to be very similar. I guess it would be quite simple to add the mdl loader based on the MD2 code. Maybe I'll add it with the new animation system...

Yeah, but that post of mine was regarding the quake mdl, which seems to be somewhat different to NWN mdl. And GameMaker's mdl7 seems to be a completely different story. Sounds like bsp levels to me. Every game comes with its own flavor. And most of them are only documented by reverse engineers.

I see he wrote there that everything about the NWN MDL is in the MDL folder. I tried to understand what he has done there but without success.
I know its a real long shot but..
Hybrid, or anyone else who's up for it, can you look at it and maybe take this project of making a NWN's MDL loader to irrlicht?

PS:
Maybe I should ask this in the Irrlicht Challenge forum?..
