Irrlicht ?? A lightning realtime engine ?

Post by Steel Style »

Hello I am young modelor, and I'll try for a thousand time to make a project with Irrlicht. However I can do small code but I can't create another light method. And I really thinks that Irrlicht light suck (stencil buffer use too many ressources and ave problem)

So my question is without counting on shadowmap (that's suck too) does Irrlicht light code will be re-worked in a next future ?

It would be cool if it could be improved and have per-pixel lighting and decent shadows as standard but it's probably quite low on the list of things to do, if it's even on the list at all.

If you want per-pixel lighting and shadows then all you need to do is search the forum, mainly the projects forum and find the shaders that people have made that do these very tasks for you.
