I am trying to compile the Irrlicht engine on LINUX (Open Suse) (This is my first time I'm trying to compile c++ code on linux),, and its taking forever  (Its approximately been 45 minutes since I started compiling). I would like to know how long does it normally take to compile? and is it normal for it to take such a long time? because on windows using Visual Studio it takes minutes. Also, does anybody no where i can find a precompiled .rpm or .deb (for Ubuntu) that I can use instead of compiling the engine from scratch?

Microsoft handle caching a lot better than everyone else, so they tend to compile faster. However, I have a 1GHz laptop running Open Suse and I'm quite sure it doesn't take longer than 5 minutes. Which part is it getting stuck at?
