Hi,

we made new website design at Dexsoft with some great new features:

- INSTANT Download link after purchase
- we re-arranged packs and joined some into much bigger ones for same price as small ones
- new bundle offers
- user gallery with users images made with our assets
- pay with credit card on PAY-PAL even if you dont have account.
and more

PS: I rendered a few of the medieval models in C4-engine just to see how good they look. I am always amazed how good lighting works in C4. I will show images later.

Feel free to give away some sample models.

(and not just for the kindness of it, it would be good to verify they actually worked in irrlicht). b3d is the preferred format I think :P

Also a pet peeve: Those "web 2.0" image viewers are really annoying. (you know, where you click to view the image large and it makes the rest of the screen go dark etc..). I like to open images in a new window so I can do something else while an image is loading. And they're also completely redundant if the image that opens is no bigger than the original!

Very nice web design. I like the shiny chrome theme. Scripts/flash works fine. About the language options, perhaps you would want to use a script that automatically translates text into various languages, as it's faster and users might not have to get used to the navigation of the other designs.
And they're also completely redundant if the image that opens is no bigger than the original!
Quite true. Have some image with larger resolution. The image viewer is classy, but it'll be more functional with a browser (next/prev buttons) and scrolls for larger images.

I've not tried the high-speed transaction but I'm sure it'll work.

Overall very nice design. I want it!

Thank you.

I am not sure if you tried it but we have "next" and "previous" buttons in image viewer. You can see all assets of a pack in that image viewer. That is also the reason for not having huge images there. Some packs have about 80 models or textures. We decided to join 4 images into one to not let the user press almost 100 times the "next" button.

I find having to use those next buttons annoying - I don't want to have to go through the images one by one! I'd rather see all images at once as thumbnails (with ability to click to view them larger).

Sorry, I've just found an outlet to vent my annoyance with those viewers :)
But think of this as critique rather than criticism :P

btw other than this, the website is a nice improvement :)

yeah, gotta go with xDan on this one, those viewers are an extreme pain. I've hated them since they started appearing. Reminds me of the <blink> tag. It's not because something exist or is new that it should be used ;)

Thank you for the comments.

I agree with you on that. Maybe an index page with option to zoom into images might be a better solution.

I'll check that out.

Still very good and interesting all the same. Pondering it at my company. But, yeah, having some Irrlicht renders would help you a great deal selling to this community ^^
Worst ask someone to make a very simple scene, replace with your models and textures and screenshot, it'll be a start ^^

I could show you some in-game images made with 2 different engines, but that would not be so nice towards irrlicht.

But I can assure you, that our contents look very good in-game since we deliver normal, spec and height maps. So you can render with normal or parallax mapping or even horizon mapping. If you add good shadow techniques like PSMS or even stencil then it looks very similiar to a rendered image.

This is what game making makes it so exciting for artists: You can achieve almost the same in-game like you achieve with still-images. These are exciting days ;)

Just imagine a scene very similar to Oblivion, Witcher or any other modern game.

How so? If you a referring to the fact that he is putting an interior in the building, then that shouldn't be a problem at all. Especially since this is exactly like games today, GTA IV, in which there are no longer loading times between exterior and interior rooms. The only loading time that you will see in GTA IV is...nothing.

Back on topic though, that model looks great, and the interior even more amazing. By the way, what 2 realtime 3D engines did you use?

Thank you very much.
For creating models we use standard modelling software at Dexsoft. In my case it is Lightwave3d and TheGIMP and sometimes a bit help from ZBrush and Bodypaint3d.

For testing my models I use several engines like Torque, Gamestudio and C4-Engine. I plan to add IrrEdit and the upcoming GameCore to this list. Then I can show you some models rendered in Irrlicht as well.

Here is an example rendered in C4 with stencil shadows and normal-mapping (I dont see any reason why it shouldn't look similiar in Irrlicht):

One of my machines from the upcoming machinery pack looks like that in-game:

By the way: We already launched 2 new packs: tavern and farm pack.
