Our latest model pack rendered in Irrlicht / IrrEdit

Dear fellow game developers,

we finished our latest model pack: sci-fi machines.

And we are proud to show you that we had much fun to play with it in IrrEdit (importing the models as .x files). The shadow mapper is very good and the editor is very intuitive. I hope that Normalmapping will work soon there.

This is a real-time scene with shadow-mapping made in IrrEdit with our textures and the machine pack:

This is a render from Lightwave3d:

This is how it looks with shaders and stencil shadows (very similar like the render above). So it could look the same with normal-mapping in Irrlicht:

We are offering this pack for a reduced price only in the first week:

I have fixed the 3ds and .obj support for normal maps. The next Irrlicht release will automatically load normal maps for those formats. Changing the meshes later on to support normal maps will require some implementation in irrEdit, which will hopefully also be done (if it does not exist already somewhere - I guess it could be achieved with a plug-in as well).
Thanks for the nice screenshots. It's good to see those meshes rendered by Irrlicht, gives much more confidence :D

Yes. This would be great, especially if IrrEdit would support Normalmaps directly.

To be very honest to you: I use several game-engines and tools to test my models, textures and levels. But the IrrEdit editor is a real good tool. The handling is easy right from the beginning, light-mapping works great and mouse-handling is great. I can work much faster with it than with similar level editing or rendering tools.

So I hope it will get more future updates. This tool is worth it and could even be sold for commercial projects.

Hey, don't give niko any ideas on making this product totally closed off!

But I agree IrrEdit is a great tool.
