Projekt:Atlas Concept

Atlas is a disease being developed by a Terrorist group. The disease only triggers after death.
When you die, you will be ressurected and become a zombie, like the rest. Of course, it would be
game over instead of just becoming a zombie.. The disease was released due to one of the scientists
going mad, and injecting the disease into his bloodstream. Since this cannot do anything until death,
he killed himself.

The game is going to be a FPS, Realistic, Single Player Survival game, where you must not be killed by the zombies.
Here is the reason for First-Person, (quote Jacob):
["your running backwards shooting the zombie, and BOOM you run directly into another one, it turns around, and RIPS YOUR FREAKING HEAD OFF!!!!!!!!!!"]
I mean, who can look behind themselves? You never know what could be behind you, it could be a zombie,
or it could be a wall. Either way its going to scare the crap out of you.

There will be 5 engines we will be using.
Rendering - IrrLicht
Physics - Newton
Audio - FMOD
AI - Atlas Engine
Main - Atlas Engine

The Atlas Engine is the main engine, its what makes the game work.

There is something cool about the zombies.
When they dont see you, they are inactive and walk around slowly.
When they SEE you, they run at very high speeds chasing you.
Around every 6 seconds they leap about 10 feet.
The only way to kill a zombie, is to shoot them directly in the head.

As we come up with more ideas, the game will become better.

As you may know, this game was originally Projekt:Rare.
At least we have a concept this time 8)
Many thanks to Jim for helping me with the concept.
I will be needing a team.
The people i will be needing:
1 Concept Artist (to help us with ideas and such)
2-3 C++ Programmers
2 Quake 3 Mappers
1-2 Model Designers
1 Audio Manager (collects audio, composes, etc)
Total People MAX: 9
Total People MINIMUM: 7

UPDATE: June 09, 2004
We will be using the RakNet system so you can blast away the zombies with your friends!! Woo!
Also, were going to use FMOD instead of Audiere

about game:
Finaly something to talk about. Look quite good if you are planing small freeware game about "finding a way to solve level" (by that i mean to find how you should walk around the level not to end with ten zombies chasing you).

about stuff:
I think you want too much people for this project. Remeber as long as you don't pay them be prepered for lots of "I would do this that way" :)
> 1 Co-Director
Why do you need one ? Are you sure you wan't hande it yourself only ?
> 3-4 Model Designers
I don't know how many models do you need but if only few (AFAIK there are only zomies in you game) one modeler is more then enough.
> 2-3 Audio Managers (collects audio, composes, etc)
We have only one musician and for now he's more then enough.

But IMOH you should look for a concept artist. His a great help for you modelers.

Wow now it sounds interesting.
Why do u want to use FMOD? I thought FMOD is commercial isn't it?
What interests me most ist the Coop Multiplayer.

Yep, you can set it to either Host, or Normal.

Hehe, does ANY zombie game let you do that? I think not!
Not that many COOP out there.. But its pretty simple.

You play AND host at the same time.. Like listenserver in half-life.
The connected computers then re-emulate the zombies, players, etc

Blast em!!

Well happy waiting ^^

I think that's not the right way you should try to ffinish a project not to let every project just fall down
