the father of a friend of mine uses this thing in his CNC (is it the same in eglish? dont know :/ ) cutter with a Wii controler, looks kind of funny he says, to watch someone at work with a WiiRemote waving it around, but still working

From a gaming perspective it is the same as the TrackIR system except for cost. They have been around for at least the last 6 years.
