Microsoft:

* Resident Evil 5
* Final Fantasy 13 : Finally The FF franchise on Xbox
* Gears of War 2
* Rock Band 2
Sony:

* Sony is going to be bringing a series of the biggest PlayStation 2 hits to the PS3, all for $29.99. Among those games are Ninja Gaiden, Resistance: Fall of Man, Call of Duty 3, Fight Night, Elder Scrolls, and many others.

Franchise sequels, and clones of Nintendo and Microsoft USPs, which some soulless corporate weasel will announce as "innovation", somehow managing to keep a straight face. You know, same as Nintendo and Microsoft just did.
Wait... no Microsoft "For Legal Reasons We'd Prefer It If You Didn't Call It A Wiimote" Remote? The need to work on their expectation management.

rogerborg: sequels sell. It may by unimaginative and inartistic, but it rakes in the cash.
I won't play any of those titles for a few years. I'm still using my playstation2.

FF13 on 360 does seem like a bit of a kick in the nads to Sony... would have probably been a nice system seller for them, i wonder why they didn't manage to keep hold of it? Not willing/able to pay Squenix for it? MS outbid them? Squenix just desperate for more dosh?
I wonder what wonders Sony will unleash... maybe nothing particularly special after 8 Days, Getaway 3 and Heavenly Sword 2 got canned
GTA on DS... interesting... sounds like cashing in to me as GTA seems a bit too good to be crammed onto DS but then DS could probably handle GTA1 so maybe it will be a lovable return to its roots!

I will definately try Gears of War 2 when it hits and for me - the greatest of E3 is Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 <- same design, same atmosphere of the game and even there is a lot of 2d art from previous Fallout 1 and 2. All this in a new great graphics, with lots of quests and non-linear action - freedom. Sounds good for me and trailer made my day. I was wondering how would Fallout's world look like in full 3d and looks like Bethesda made it exacly the same way I imagined it.
How about Duke Nukem Forever ? Last time when some short gameplay video was released and few 'mini-screenshots' I hoped that maybe E3'08 will have the honor to reveal the game for good. But maybe our grandchildren will have a chance to play this game after 'few' years.

I think the best that we can hope for is that our grandchildren will get the chance to rewrite it again, and to market it for pre-release on the PlayStation 17, XBox 1776, and the Nintendo Smegma.

Here's what i've found (online) about Sony's E3 announcements:
God of War 3 - speaks for itself!
Massive Action Game - providing up to 256 players online???
DC Universe Online - DC Comics character online multiplayer
Resistance 2
Apparently no mention of Motorstorm 2 which surprises me..
