Excellence of Irrlicht

In irrlicht everything is simple. Just only a few lines code, you can create everything in 3D space. Along time ago, I have ideal about a simple game 3D. At that time, I didn't have irrlicht engine, I just only use DirectX SDK. As you see, DirectX SDK really complicated. I was painful with it because it has many complicated functions with much formulary mathematics. I think if you aren’t good at mathematics, you can not use DirectX SDK professionally. I had spent for three months but my game hadn't finish yet. And now with irrlicht, I was easily finish it. The irrlicht engine has only one weakness that is speed. If your 3D application has many 3D objects then the speed of frame per second is very slow. So I think the irrlicht doesn't correspond for commercial games or tactical RST games. But if you are amateur programmer then irrlicht is the best engine for you. I really like irrlicht very much. This is my first 3D game. It's name "Dragon killer", this is very simple game. Have fun!

What are the directions to this game? I don't have microsoft word so I can't open the .doc file. Maybe you can make a .txt version?

Keys are z,x and c (hint for programmers: some people have keyboards where those keys are *not* beside each other!). Good music and nice effects. But insane difficulty - I didn't seem to manage to even scratch that dragon. Are you sure it's possible to hurt him? He simply didn't care about my fireballs.

I had the same problem as alien - other than that, cool.

Ditto. The new VBO support should help with speed.

I love the movement sound and animation on the knight. Hilarious.

lmao... that game is hilarious!

Irrlicht can be used just fine for commercial games, and has been in the past, you've just gotta have enough game programming experience to know what you can and can't do and how to get the full benefit from a system.

Oh, I will improve my game in the next time. It’s able to allow user setting the control of keyboard. Enemy cannot be hurt by your fire ball when he is shooting. That is game’s rule. I tested this game at my home, and I really did the dragon hurt.

The timer of my game depend on your graphic hardware. Because I get the virtual time to make timer, I think if you have a strong hardware, the shoot will be easier.

Thank for all ideal. May be in the next time I will improve my game and create a new version of game. And when it is perfectibility, I will open source this game.
