md3 file format or ms3d (.x) ?

which Animation is faster ?

I do think md3's animation is faster than ms3d or .x ,Am I wrong ?

I wanna make a mmorpg online game , there will be more than 30 player in the screen at the same time , MD3 or .ms3d ?


Any Suggestion?

md3 is vertex animation.Firstly, that's cpu faster than bones and weights,but today hardware..I've been told is no more something to take in account.

Also, it depends, if your md3 is huge (I hate now doing a model lower than 2000 tris) , and/or you made it using many keyframes (each is an additional mesh) then your use in memory would be huge, I don't know if then also would be ur use of ram memory.

Well loaded, the 3 models should be ok...

I've been told though, for many tiny models, few keyframes, and few animations (for the same reason I explained, a bunch of joint rotation changes are WAY lighter in memory than loads of meshes loads inside an anim) small polycount each...then go for something like md2, even.

If is an FPS where u wanna see nice models, smooth animations, etc, I'd use x weighted models, large polycount.
