Hiding RAR file in JPG

Post by skumar »

hi,
I dont know whether you know this trick or not. With this you can hide a .rar file in a jpeg image. If you double click the image gets opened, but if you open it with rar , you get the real files. How is it.....

Here goes the technique....

Requirements....
1.input.rar
2.input.jpg
thats all...

Put the desired rar and jpeg files in a folder.

Open command prompt and change directory to that folder....

Then type the following command....

copy /b input.jpg + input.rar output.jpg

Where output.jpg will be the modified file....

Check this......

That's pretty cool! Not exactly the most efficient file protection but a nice trick none the less!

Works with any file format. I tried adding a .mp3 and .png files together. Then I added a .rar to the result. Still works. It's a neat trick.

The thing is of course that it won't work right with irrlicht... You'd have to change the file extension to make it load the right bit and i wonder if it works the same on non-windows OS?

It was not intended for irrlicht anyway....i just felt it as a 'cyber magic' ...I got it from a friend of mine who reads a lots of hacking tuts....

Any way this can easily hide our day to day secret files..but a pro will see the size differnce in the jpeg file...and may break it....

Normally if we make a folder full of pictures,,,,and if it opens on click...normally none will notice its..size...
