Convert Ogre 3D Engine to Irrlicht Engine
Hi all
I see Ogre 3D Engine better Irrlicht Engine. I hope Irrlicht Engine version 1.5 release can convert code Ogre 3D Engine to Irrlicht Engine. I have convert 30% but it really don't work.

OGRE and Irrlicht have different goals and different development methodologies. If OGRE is "better" for you, please use it. If you have specific suggestions about changes that you'd like to see in Irrlicht, please make them.
Please upload candidate patches to the tracker.

I'm guessing that this guy's native language is not English.
It sounds like he is trying to port his project from using Ogre to Irrlicht. He's apparently already started the process, but has become stuck and he wants to know if the upcoming Irrlicht 1.5 will make it easier.
If that is the case, then obviously the answer is a simple NO.

Yeah, it sounds like the poster is saying about porting the code over to Irrlicht and only 30% of it done, not even working.

maybe he's doing a game engine which user can choose either use ogre or irrlicht as renderer, just like you can choose direct3d or opengl in irrlicht.JP wrote:another question is why the hell you want to port your Ogre app to Irrlicht if you think Ogre is so much better

Gotta love those "I think he means/says .." Nice speculation. Honestly, I haven't a clue what he's trying to say.
[offtopic]I know it's not nice to laugh at someone's English speaking skill (or lack of it), but it reminds me of a Japanese game show I saw on YouTube, where a guy was counting numbers and after nineteen came tenten .. tententen four. It really cracked me up.[/offtopic]
