I think that whole plan is totaly wrong! The electric net is not designed for such changes or actions. when eveyone turns out there light we get an overflow of production that can cause a major blackout because the energie can't go anywere.

The powerplants aren't designed to stop producing in such a small time. And when the lights are turned on an huge demand will ask more than normal. Turning on lights cost somebit more energie than having them turned on. So if 500k people turn there lights on on the same moment the electric demand will be 1,25 times higher than normal.

So what if we destory our electric net? no global warming but chaos...

I hate to be a cynic but the whole idea of saving energy upsets me, I want more energy not less! The year 2000 was supposed to be all about hover skateboards, teleporters, flying cars and sexy green aliens with 3 breasts, yet here we are in 2009 and my girlfriend only has two and they're pink. We're running way behind schedule guys, let's pick up the pace!

Well with the Terrafugia Transition you got the flying car and those wacky researchers at Australian National University have the teleportation covered, 2 out of 4 is not bad at all.

FFS! Drop the friggin 2012 already and once and for all! Do you make a calendar that lasts until the end of time? ESPECIALLY if you notice that most events (or all you can add up) are cyclical? No? Then why should they? As for Planet X, that was debunked so many times it isn't funny anymore. Want to have fun? Look at the fact a huge asteroid just barely missed us (which originally they thought would hit us) and no one was any the wiser (seriously, if the governments told the people, what would any have done about it?) and the fact most of said discoveries are made by amateurs astrologers and kids around the world who THEN have it reported to NASA.

Here, go have fun:
