3DS File and Textures

Post by DanielSanchez »

I have a 3DS file, which is pretty much a cube. Each face has
its own texture. When i load my 3ds file into irrlicht, its a white
cube (no textures). Are the textures automatically loaded and
applied to the geometry when i load the 3DS file ? or do i
manually need to load each texture and apply it to the geometry ?
My textures are in the same directoy as in the 3DS file.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you ! [/quote]

They should be loaded automaticly. I think there was a bug in the engine, which was fixed in version 0.4.1, maybe you are using an older version?

or his exporter is loosing UVs during export..
or the path to the texture...maybe there's a problem with that

Hi,
I've noticed that (for my 3ds map) the texture file must be in 8.3 format...
Maybe is that...

My textures had spaces and were like, 12-14 characters long (I try using naming conventions for EVERYTHING LOL) It was the 8.3 format. Thank you guys !
