ryzom commercial mmorg released free 11.1GB of content

Post by roguetreasure »

Ryzom is a commercial mmorg at http://www.ryzom.com
they released 11.1GB of content under the creative commons share and share alike liciense. Most of the models are in studio max format. There is a lot of good quality content. I hope we will see some irrlicht demos and games with some better new content :)

They even have a online repository that can be browsed at

nice stuff but i don't have 3dmax....so no good for me :(
We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.

I thought .max was a proprietary/closed format so importers/exporters are difficult to write. I haven't checked recently but at one point I needed an importer for Milkshape and couldn't find one ..

I would like to download the content, where can I find it? Do I download the trial version of the game and it comes with it or what?

Thanks

Even the textures may be of use, even though a vast majority of the models are in the .max format.
