ROP : Races of Palonka

Post by kalvinorama »

it's a Strategy/Action game in a fantastic world. Somes species live in a huge world. they fight, build city, create army, earn money.
The player can engage some to build an army and do some quests like destroy one unit, eliminate a specie, bring a population to a certain number of head.

The version is pre-alpha. I will post a demo soon, with the realease of the alpha version.

Features :
-up to 200 hundred entities with a parametrized beahvior for each in XML ( at 90 fps)
- different attack (melee, projectile, magic, explosion) parametrized in XML
- they can construct building where others unities born

i will post a more detailed content soon, with a better english ;)

Thanks to ikam for CTerrainPager
thanks to the modeler of these models (used now before adding specific model ):
freebeast, dwarf, ant, ninja

I like some of the aspects of the black and white but it seems too boring and empty... but with colour it's not that good either... possibly the colour version just needs better textures and filling out the environment a bit more... but i feel that the black and white approach has potential and maybe with some extra work it could be really good!

I'm agree with you for the black and white. Furthermore it is more interesting in motion.
For colors, i haven't done any works for the quality, and effectively the world is now too empty.

Thanks for your constructive reply.

I like the black and white, but I think it shouldn't be only black and white. Like the game madworld for wii which had red blood.
idk depending on the type of game you could choose some cool places to place color, it just seems to me that the black and white will get annoying after a while and the high contrast will hurt your eyes eventually. (and gray is just plain boring)

In Britain you can come across a common slang word "Plonker"
Its not a very nice thing to call someone, and I would highly recommend not naming your game to resemble it in anyway

Other than that, it seems like an interesting concept with the black-and-white thing

Hehe, here in brazil the term "pelanca" means piece of old man flesh/skin that hangs and pops out of his joints....
Not a nice thing either hehe...
