I want to capture video from my game to put it on youtube, but I have trouble capturing the sound from the game, I can only record from microphone, and I want to record good clear game sounds.
No matter what capture software I use, it won't work with 'speaker' sound option, only mic. I investigated a little and it seems to be issue with XP Realtek drivers forbidding sound capture for copyright reasons. I tried on three different computers with no luck.
Anyone knows how to capture sound and video from game?

CamStudio has no ads.
Other recording tool I tried always install alot of other things (spamwhare)
and added lots of unusefull registry keys wich were removed by CCleaner.
Maybe CamStudio is not the best tool, but if i remember correctly it is opensource and is hosted on sourceforge. So you can improve it. And even fix issues. Idk if sourceforge host other similiar projects.
EDIT:
here's a link

...EDIT 2: will try to use also fraps as suggested below by Kazymjir

But all records work differently on other computers like Fraps works better on my friends computer than it does mine!kazymjir wrote:Try use fraps, it's imo best software for recording games
I only use Xfire becuase it works good on my computer. The only problem I have with xfire is that you have to use a game from the selected list and you can't load up any random app and record.

That's not necessarily true. If you can find a game on xfire's list that uses the same renderer as the game you want to record, find out what that game's exe is named, change the one you want to record to that name, and xfire will load up into that game and record perfectly fine.LizardGamer wrote:But all records work differently on other computers like Fraps works better on my friends computer than it does mine!kazymjir wrote:Try use fraps, it's imo best software for recording games
