ok wow thats all to say about that.

I also hate Zbrush, but this could easily be done in blender.

Hahaha LOLz aaammmsterdddam... You clearly don't use Blender everyday like me, if at all. Its a plain pain in the A** to get proper looking hair effects not to mention animating them...

amazing, thanks for posting the find klunk :D

@aaammmsterdddam
have you ever used ZBrush before?
it doesn't work the same way as other 3d tools, mesh data is also handled very differently internally

I agree it might be possible to use weight painting in Blender/Max etc with plugins to generate simple stranded hairs, but I have never seen anything which looks as good as this, or provides as much control over the final look.

At the very least, it would take DAYS to achieve something like that in Blender, which would only take a few MINUTES to do with this new Zbrush feature...

Ahh, talk is cheap. Why don't you go into Blender right now, spend 15 or 20 minutes, and post a hairy model here for us to admire?

I spent ½ day. (Including modeling, texturing, rigging and setting up lights until Iw as happy (What took the most time:
Texturing (Including material settings!)
Hair (took some tweaking until I was happy)
Lights (Took some time until I was happy with the placenent, strength and so on)
Modeling (Took about 20% of the time)
Overall: 12 hours and 56 minutes))

Err, where's the model?

Could you maybe add another light - it looks so dark? And another view? You're not using transparency, are you?

But I can see you are a committed modeller: 12 hrs = 1/2 day. Jeepers, 12 hours for me is nearly a whole week.
