I'm porting my game to Irrlicht, so far I'm pretty happy with it, I have a few hurdles but it is coming along nicely.

I'm mixing game play from Williams Defender, and various Castle Defense games. The 'Attackers' are trying to steal all the city base's energy, if one attacks, and you destroy it, you have to then collect the energy crystal, and return them back to the city base it was stolen from. There are other various enemies helping them, giving them cover that you must fend off. If the 'Attacker' is able to bring down the city base defenses compleetly, they can steal all the energy instantly, and that puts them in a fighter mode. That means they seek you out, and are four times as fast, and try to dodge your attacks as well.
It was a fun game in its XNA (Windows Only) form, as 2D sprites. I think bringing it to 3D visually will make it even more fun, as it will immerse the player better. You can download the game and source code here. http://tinyurl.com/LanceXNA
