Tested it on my Linux machine and results are very nice:

Bunny (before)
 ProgressiveMeshBuffer creation: 1 sec
Duration: 44 sec
Duration: 43 sec
Duration: 43 sec
Duration: 42 sec
Duration: 42 sec
Duration: 40 sec
 
Bunny (after your updates)
 ProgressiveMeshBuffer creation: 0 sec
Duration: 13 sec
Duration: 11 sec
Duration: 11 sec
Duration: 10 sec
Duration: 10 sec
Duration: 8 sec
Duration: 8 sec
 
Will update the example and soucre code when I'm back on Windows.

Updated source & example with optimization changes of wing64

Not sure what you mean?
I haven't use it for a skinnend mesh yet.
