Smyle Tyme: Share real Jokes of life!

Post by Shah »

Ok here is my one:

2 months after I started learning programming, I gave funniest english test in academy. I expect I will get 95 percent but got 60. When I checked I made these mistakes:

wrote sentence like:

heComes to school etc
color instead of colour (actually I wrote vbColor at twice, I was really hypnotised)

was not funny enough but I will share more. Don't mind

color / colour is not a mistake imo. "Color" is just American version, while "colour" is British version.

English mistakes are common since it's a difficult second language, although you guys write it moderately well.

Reminds me of this joke from Reader's Digest:
English student: "We have cows in our lives, cows in our homes, cows in our relationships, ..."
English teacher: "It's pronounced 'chaos'."

If English would be a difficult second language, it would be never a global universal language. That's why we are not speaking Chineese for example :)
Mistakes comes from the differences between native language and second langauge. Brain must accomodate to the new way of sentence constructions which differs from the one it knows for years.

About jokes, English is a pretty nice language to play with words which can have more than one meaning.

Funny, but so true. Hopefully I didn't have occasion to say "chaos" before I learned how to pronounce it properly. :)

Hm. I think English is more global because of trade (though, yes, it is easier than Chinese XD)

Glad you like the word play. I'm sure other languages have word play. Is there not much word play in Polish?
