This is a forum for the announcement of projects that use Irrlicht ONLY.
Impossible!!!

Since, as moderators said themselfs, irrlicht is just a engine and no game development kit, no netcode, no audio, no nothing beside graphics and some math.

So you exclude 99,99999% of all projects ever.

Also your rule is not specific enough, i guess u mean no other libraries, external dependencies or whatever u mean.
If you would mean "No other code", then there would be nothing to announce anymore ever.

Thx but no thanks.

PS: I give a poop to ure tiny thought about rules, by the way, who are u to limit me,
it is faster and better to open another thread "Project Announcements without braindead rules" than applying any project to these restrictions

Rules:

1. Do what u like.
2. Nothing illegal.
3. Project has to use Irrlicht Engine.

Hints:
- post a description and screenshots,
- use this thread preferably as a table of contents,
- u can create your project page somewhere else and provide a link here to keep it simple for other projects to be found in this thread

h.a.n.d.

The reason for the rules is that we tried it without 'em in the past. Which resulted in constant announcements of the style "we're going to do the best mmorpg ever (or these days - best minecraft clone ever)". It's really easy to announce any kind of project you would like to do without even having the smallest clue what game development is about. And the problem was that any real project got lost in the noise. So we added minimum rules just to make certain people actually have a project and not just an "idea".

Anyway - this thread belongs in discussion, so I'll move it.

Well, luckily now you're here to open our eyes and save the day. Because, you know, what we had apparently did not work.

How about a democratic vote before taking our freedom on your own?

If you know what that is.

It always makes me said when I have to defend YOUR freedom, because ppl wont recognize whats going on on a daily basis.

@ent1ty: At first i didnt know exactly if you were ironic, now i know :D

Let's see, ahh SuperTuxKart uses sound, lets erase it from the project announcement section, and my project of course too, since i dared to question the rules.

Well, I suppose what the author really meant was don't post projects which use some unrelated lib for rendering. I guess we all just understood what he meant and didn't really think about it.
Yes, you can use any lib you like alongside Irrlicht and post it here in the forums - as you already noticed, nobody deletes project threads which are not Irrlicht-only.

no sarcasm this time... achievement unlocked!

Ok, I've split the whole discussion (up to the explaining post by Nadro) from the announcement, as none of it belonged there.
Anyway, maybe it's just a little lack of language understanding here, as you're not English native speaker. The point is: projects that use Irrlicht only It's not projects that use only Irrlicht. Please note the difference. In German it's a little mfurther movement, but the same idea (nur Projekte, die Irrlicht nutzen vs. Projekte, die nur Irrlicht nutzen).
So please think twice next time, and keep useless discussions to your own places. Thank you.
