MS releases free VS community 2013 IDE

Haven't installed it yet myself, so don't know yet if it'll work already with Irrlicht. But if not we just have to add that. I've worked with another VS 2013 version recently for a few months in a job and I'm rather glad to see it's now available for free. Nice features like suppressing repeated asserts if they are identical to the first one (especially if you work with a team that uses *lots* of asserts) :-)

That's good news!
Supported operating systems

Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64)
Windows 8 (x86 and x64)
Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64)
Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)
Windows Server 2012 (x64)
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64)
I'm still with Vista, so I guess it's not so great for me. :p
And why does it take 20Gb of disk space when the last one only took 225Mb? I suppose the other extended features like Python, Nodejs etc. have something to do with that, but still... 20Gb?? I assume then that's more recommended for its sprawling out than its actual disk space.
I can still recall the days when video games could fit on a floppy disk. My how things have changed...

Right, they dropped support for old systems again *sigh*. Sad stuff, I remember they just tried that with 2012 or 2013 and XP until people protested (and there was no real reason back then, people got it working within days on older systems by copying around some dll's...).

Disk space is also the reason why I'm a little worried - not because of the 20 GB. I have space for that. But VS has this tendency since a few years to always keep a few GB around on the c: drive for de-installation. Independent of which drive you chose to install it on! And my c: is a SSD drive which is nearly full... (partly because I have several VS version installed for Irrlicht and each added a few GB that way and partly because Windows puts all kind of stuff there which it won't let me move away - I'll never ever again put the OS on a SSD).
