Using md2 exporter in Blender 2.6 and 2.7?

Post by Pythy Python »

Is there md2 exporter for Blender 2.6 or blender 2.7?

For some reason, I really don't like Beldner 2.5. It has really uncomfortable mouse control in the scene editor unlike Blender 2.6 or 2.7.

Since the official md2 exporter made by Mateio is removed, I really don't know where to download the md2 exporter for blender 2.6...

I think the official md2 exporter made by Metaio worked on Blender 2.6 maybe also 2.7. I posted a thread about the GitHub problem and thankfully someone uploaded a md2 exporter. But unfortunately I think the md2 exporter he uploaded isn't the Mateio md2 exporter. So it doesn't work on Blender 2.6.

So, if you know where to get md2 exporter for Blender 2.7, please let me know. Or if you have the Mateio version of md2 exporter, could you upload the file for me?

MD2 is very old now and has many downsides, I don't think many people are interested in maintaining exporters for this format for new versions of Blender.

As a fellow Blender user, i can recommend both the .b3d and .x formats for animated models that use bones, there seems to be a shortage of vertex animated formats (like MD2) that Blender can export. B3d is a nice format, you can get a Blender exporter here which works for Blender 2.59 (I think?) to Blender 2.73a (what I am currently using).
