0.8 rocks... actually it addressed quite a few beefs i had with irrlicht... great job niko...

i am planning to release the Starblazer game for free... but i might keep the source closed since it might lead to major cheating.. :)

Hey mohaps, I see you're using TrueAxis. Do you like it? Because I'm dubbing about which physics engine I should use: Newton, Novodex or the relatively unknown TrueAxis (but great demos). Or ODE although that one is a bit too unprecise.

hi bal,

just started playing around with trueaxis... it is good for lots of fast moving objects... let us see how it goes...

I just started looking into TrueAxis today. I can't say much about performance, but it took me a matter of maybe 20 minutes to get a test app running in Irrlicht with it. I love the ease of use and it's also very fast, as you can tell from the demos.

Luke from TrueAxis seems much more helpful than Julio from Newton does, and it's very encouraging that TrueAxis is designed got gaming and fast object and the documentation is a million times better than Newton's.

I'll post more about TrueAxis and hopefully get some demos up with souce in a bit. First, I'm going to get my old engine mod with the geomipmapscenenode that i did for 0.7.1 upgraded to be using 0.8! :)

I'm trying to use TrueAxis physics with Irrlicht and I had a lot of compiling errors. Could anyone post some code, please?

I agree, it's much more user-friendly than Newton :D

Geez! You compressed a 51MB movie down using .rar to less than 1 MB download? What in the world? Is .rar that good with compression? Sorry if it's off topic but that's really good. What codec do you need? I can't seem to get the vid to work...

Just a format (raw AVI I guess?) that can be compressed quite good. Compressing an already compressed DivX will not give this result.
