Hi ZDimitor,
great work, I suppose. I have been waiting for this gile(s) tool for a long time. I downloaded it and tried it out. unfortunately when trying to export the lightmapped gile(s) file to the my3d format (using the dll in the plugin folder) - gile(s) crashes with a "memory access violation" error. it crashes also with your example-file "giles1_3_test.gls". giles(s) does write the _lm lightmaps though, but there is no my3d file after the crash. any idea what I might possibly doing wrong here ?

Weird rendering Issues
ok guys, just started experimenting with the latest version of My3dtools; I decided to load a project we're working on. This is a test-render of it (in 3dsmax):

ok, following the recommendations, I made each mesh a separate mesh with its own material so that everything loads ok. The render-to-texture goes fine as well as the exporting process. The problems begin here;
http://www.danielpatton.com/afecelis/Zd ... my3d01.jpg
directx9 rendering, weird jaggies, an old zbuffer issue, and it's worse when things are scaled up in size. But materials load ok and the lightmaps too. But the jaggies (as on the roof) look really bad. It's not a my3d issue but a renderer problem.

as we start to get closer things start to look better, but things that are far away look terrible. also check that in DX the corners of skyboxes are always noticeable.(thing I hate of DX!!)

the closer, the better! Materials and lightmaps look damn nice, but oh!! poor textures in the distance!!

now check the middle element (the security booth), it's supposed to have glass. Well, elements that have a level of opacity don't show up at the places where they're supposed to. If you look a bit up you'll se a greenish stuff; yup, it's the water that should come out of the blue wall. This I think is a My3d problem.

the water, closer; not textured as it should be (dunno why it shows up green), but at least it's transparent...but misplaced. And the darker green stuff are the booth's glasses... in the air!!!
OK, now th OpenGL story:

well, what do you see? No difuse maps!!!! Yup, it's a bug I've discussed a lot in the forums, and it showed up in v0.8. I've been having a lot of problems with diffuse maps when rendering in opengl; My3d files, Q3 bsps, and any other file type that includes lightmaps. But no one seems to pay attention to it; this didn't happen in 0.7. The good things? A nice way to check lightmaps, lol... ok, and no jaggies in opengl!! things look smoother from any distance. Oh yes! and notice how some meshes show up in green; I guess it has to do with how I created their materials in Max, so I'll check what's different in them

I love it, even without textures. I love opengl!!! please Niko fix the bug!!!!

and again, the misplaced meshes with transparent materials.
ok, this has been a brief report on my latest experience with Zdimitor's tools.
seems like most of the problems are occurring on Irrlicht's behalf.
cheers!
