Any Help Greatly Appreciated

Post by Tannayr »

Hi, I just recently stumbled upon the Irrlicht Engine and I immediately fell in love. The problem is the tutorials do not help me at all, everytime I follow one I end up failing or cannot build or test the application. This is probably mostly due to the fact that I am very new to C++ or just don't have everything set up correctly.

But the main thing is that I am a hands on learner, basically I take an example tear it apart and rebuild it to learn. This is how I learned HTML, java, visual basic, etc.

What I am basically wanting to know is if there are any open sources to just a basic game, or if anyone would be willing to make or post one. All I really wanting is something that will open up have a menu (to choose start game, exit, options kind of thing), open a map, and be able to walk around.

If anyone could/would help me with finding this or posting a source for it I would be very greatful. There probably is something like this on the website somewhere, but i've looked for hours and hours and could not find exactly what i am looking for.

STICKY: FAQ << read that -- lot of help, and for the examples, just read the tutorials and put them all together to make a simple walk around.... You will understand after messing around
