Freeworld3D 2.0 BETA

Post by soconne »

I just thought I'd let some of you guys know that I've released a BETA version of my terrain editor, Freeworld3D 2.0. I would really appreciate anyone that will beta test it and report any bugs or suggestions for improvement before the final release. You can dwonlaod it here along with 2 sample maps. There is also a PDF documentation file that shows most of the features and how to use them.

You can load the .bmp heightmap exports in irrlicht-0.12

if you want to load the .raw formats, you need to get the new terrain node or use IrrSpintz( link in my sig )

The exported data is in XML or ASCII format and is very easy to read in. All the exported data consists of is things like mesh positions, skybox, skydome, skyplane information, water, fog, lighting info, ect....

When I release the final version of 2.0, I will also be releasing an SDK to load all of the freeworld3D data for you into an easy to use class library.
