Rising Vengeance – Preliminary Information

Background:
Rising Vengeance is a 3D First Person Shooter set in multiple areas around the world. Based on technologies and ideas that I have brainstormed and developed over the past year. Currently this project is being undertaken by myself alone, but it is being taken at a rather slow pace because of my studies and of work. Anyone willing to spare some time to do some work on this project would be greatly appreciated. The project itself has been in the development stages for quite some time, because of the restrictions of my development machine, however, now that my newer computer is up and fully running, I will be able to spend a lot more time developing.

Features:
* Customizable weaponry system
* Multiple weapons to choose from
* Range of playable characters
* Dynamic weather system
* Online playability
* Dynamic blood-splatter
* Ability (In single play mode) to play the game as a “run and gun” or a “stealth based” game
* Detailed environments
* Multiple vehicles

Introduction:
NEWFLASH: September 27th 2009
Today at approximately 8:15 AM, Michael Roberts, the ringleader of the large urban gang Project Azarus was assassinated by gang rivals. Members of the gang have said nothing about possible response to this action.
NEWSFLASH: September 30th 2009
Violence erupts in the streets today as members of Project Azarus riot near their rival gang, Teradown's headquarters. 37 deaths this morning, and the siege continues.

Because of the escalating violence, the central part of the city has been terrorized and destroyed. Gang fights and shootouts are happening all throughout the city now, disturbing everyone in the area's lives. You play as Paul Sanders, a small time business owner turned militia minuteman. Your house was razed and turned to rubble by one of the gang shootouts, and your daughter taken prisoner. Having everything in your life taken from you, you fight for the one thing left...your daughter. Unite with other refugee's that have been forced from their homes, Fight against all that get in the way of you finding your daughter, Fight for revenge, but most of all, Fight for pure survival.

part 1:
why did you even create this thread? its fine you got your story (which sucks in my opinion, nothing new, typical superman is in rage because his wife/son/daughter is taken/death and he is out for revenge/rescue. how about something new, something fresh? there are a million FPS out there and they are all nearly the same, just stupid...) but you have nothing to show at all. it would be cool to already see some work or at least to know that a little code already exist (because every newbie can post here, write a half page of story, tell what great features it has and that he seeks teammembers...and most of that projects (99%) do not even become alpha demo status, which is quite sad.) or see work you have done before, because no one knows how good or bad you are.)

part 2:
if you mainly created this thread to seek team members than i think its quite good, but you could have wrote a little bit more information like if this project will be free, if the team members get paid (and if, how), what members are needed, a certain age that the certain person must have, which system you target (200 mhz with 4mb onboard chip or 3 ghz with geforce fx 7800ultra?) , if there is a certain deadline at which the project should be ready and the most important of all, how much experience do you got? because the stuff you are trying to do will be more advanced, you should already have some knowledge, otherwise the project will fail like the others.

i hope this sounds not too destructive and i wish you good luck :)

Yeah Jam. If you were smart enough to even read Gfxstyler's signature, you would know he is making an RTS. And sure, maybe he doesnt have any exciting screenshots to show, but do you see him making big posts about it either? No not really. But apparently you werent smart enough.

Well telling him his story sucks and that it is unoriginal is not really that helpful. Sad but true not all of us are blessed with the literary skills of Stephen King or Dean Koontz. :D

all I was asking was maybe throw out some tidbit, maybe something to stoke his imagination.

anyways I guess I will try my hand at it, even though I suffer from permanent writers block :lol:

[c]ode maybe you could try something like this
your a peasant who is fed up with his situation in life and is thinking of leading a revolution, only catch the king is married to your daughter who would have your head if you killed him
:lol: ok well I gave it a shot

i mean i could just name a few games that use a similar story so this is why i thought he should think of another story :) sorry for that

yeah the story is pretty basic even the mechanics are a bit ummm....

well blood splatter and vehicles pretty much sounds like UT2004 or something right?

if he actually makes it I'll poop my pants with joy and play even buggy crap if it's fun...

take notice this is his first registered post on the forums as well no reason to be so harsh at least his post was neat.

bad GFXstyler bad *smacks GFXstyler on the nose with news paper* now get in your cage!

it got tired of making up good stories for a game that will only be played in multiplayer mode anyway.

I play the SP side of the game before I ever touch MP. Some of the best FPS almost always had a good story to it.
