Game in space. The starbase.

I don't know if you played my game demo but maybe you can give me some advices.

My game is RTS. TO win this game you have to defeat your enemy's ( :P ).
Basically as long as you have an star base you can create new units and you are not defeated ( you can play. ) (i could involve the planet too ... but i don't want do to that right now)

The star base is like an normal unit with some bonuses.

The problem appear when someone is attacking only your star base, destroy it (iven if your units are firing in his units ) and run. ( you loose because you will not be able to build more ships ... (maybe reconstructing your star base ... but naturally this should take a lot of time and you will still be in disadvantage) )
I don't want to have an game in what the only think you do is hunting the star bases.

Destroying any unit is in general taking a lot of time because i want players to have time to use abilities.
(abilities are important .. with them star base can be destroyed very easily if someone is using many abilities on the star base)

Any idea how i can make that the player to do more fighting and no direct attack on the star base. Any ideas?

1. Give more points for destroying it if the ships are already destroyed.
2. Make it so a forcefield which doesnt go down until all ships are destroyed.
3. Offer a cloaking device to hide your own starbase
4. ...more if I think of them

1. ot very useful ... you still lose ... i give more life points to the star base
2. i think too at that ... i was thinking that the player will construct new ships and very fast this way the shield will be on very fast again and the game will take very long time.
3. .. is an idea ... but i don't really want to hide so big ships.

... but the demo is old .. the new version is not out yet.
