There are lots of new features, bug fixes and optimizations. Here is a short list with the highlights of the new release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The engine is now able to load\u00a0<strong>3DS files<\/strong>, with their materials and textures.<\/li>\n<li>There is now a tool for<strong> generating new fonts<\/strong> for the engine included in the SDK.<\/li>\n<li>New scene nodes (<strong>Skyboxes<\/strong>) and scene node animators (<strong>texture animators<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>Experimental\u00a0<strong>stencil buffer shadows<\/strong> with the Direct3D device.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sphere mapping<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Interfaces for extensions with new texture and mesh loaders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The webpage was also updated: There are some new tutorials available on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irrlicht.sourceforge.io\/tutorials.html\">tutorials page<\/a>, the milestones for version 0.3 can be viewed on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irrlicht.sourceforge.io\/development.html\">development page<\/a>, and I added an acknowledgements section on the<a href=\"https:\/\/irrlicht.sourceforge.io\/author.html\">author page<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new version of the Irrlicht Engine is now available for download from the\u00a0download page.
