[fixed] MY3D loader bug with zip files

Post by Masterhawk »

Hey guys,
I know you hear that a thousand times, but I didn't find a topic which helps me out.
I wanted to compile Irrlicht 1.1 with DX9 support with Dev-Cpp. I made this post step by step: http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/ ... t=d3d9+dll

But when I want to compile it there is an unexpected error.

Code: Select all

CGUIComboBox.cpp: In member function `void irr::gui::CGUIComboBox::openCloseMenu()':
CGUIComboBox.cpp:265: error: cannot allocate an object of type `irr::gui::CGUIListBox'
CGUIComboBox.cpp:265: error: because the following virtual functions are abstract:
include/IGUIListBox.h:62: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::setListTopItem(irr::s32)
include/IGUIListBox.h:63: error:  virtual irr::s32 irr::gui::IGUIListBox::addItem(const wchar_t*, irr::video::SColor)
include/IGUIListBox.h:64: error:  virtual irr::s32 irr::gui::IGUIListBox::addItem(const wchar_t*, irr::video::SColor, const wchar_t*)
include/IGUIListBox.h:65: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::setItemColor(irr::s32, irr::video::SColor)
include/IGUIListBox.h:66: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::setOverrideFont(irr::gui::IGUIFont*)

include/IGUIListBox.h:67: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::setOverrideColor(irr::video::SColor)
include/IGUIListBox.h:68: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::isStandardGUI(bool)
include/IGUIListBox.h:69: error:  virtual bool irr::gui::IGUIListBox::isStandardGUI()

include/IGUIListBox.h:70: error:  virtual void irr::gui::IGUIListBox::removeItem(irr::s32)

make.exe: *** [CGUIComboBox.o] Error 1
I would expecting a DX9 error, but I even cannot compile the native Irrlicht source!

Hope you can help me...

Either your include files are from a different version or your code changes are not working (in case you made some).

What did you mean with that?.....I just redownloaded a virgin release of Irrlicht 1.1.....

perhaps there left some carbage....I delete all the existing source and retry...

EDIT: Well, now I get this damn thing compiled but my app says that DIRECTX9 is not compiled into the *.dll.

I told you that I worked step by step after that "tutorial" linked above. Did I miss anything? I have the DirectX9DevPak installed. And I added these parameters.....

Maybe you did not add the correct command line parameter?

What do you mean...? I added these params:

-D_IRR_COMPILE_WITH_DIRECTX_8_=1
-D_IRR_COMPILE_WITH_DIRECTX_9_=1

-ld3dx8
-ld3dx9

Do I have to add more...?

It should be -DIRR_COMPILE_WITH_DX9_DEV_PACK. The other two are automatically added if not commented out.

Thx hybrid..D3D9 is now compiled into the dll.

But now another problem occurred....the new dll don't want to load my textures. The "old" dll did it correctly. The problem occurrs when using OpenGL and DirectX9. Seems to be a problem with the compilation

Thx in advance

Does really no one has an idea about that.....
Why did the "original" irrlicht.dll works great with *.my3d, but when I just compile the unmodified code it misses the textures...??

Mh, what about to compile the version 1.1 source delivered with the Irrlicht download...Does this also load correctly.
Maybe it is a problem with the my3d-meshloader....but i don't get it why the precompiled dll from the 1.1 package works pefect...

I can test this tomorrow. The 1.3 SDK binary version does load this correctly, too.

A recompiled version if the 1.1 source also loads this mesh correctly.

first of all, thanks to you for bothering with that compiling stuff.
I want to load the mesh from an zip-compressed file. The texture loading problem doesn't occur when I don't load it from an zip file.

So what might be the problem? I really have no idea.
