Hi, I vote no also, for same reasons already told before. And because one more important: windows developpers seems to don't take care so much about software project managment and packaging, only rely on some IDE like VC.

The main default of windows users coming to linux is they don't change their point of view and their though about OS/computing/development process/ressources friendlyness code/... and they don't take time to learn nor to do one thing they never learn to do on windows: read doc !

AMHA packages SHOULD not include version hint except for very specific purposes and incompatibily issues (like libpng* in Debian)

Do you know does the official Ubuntu package need as many steps?

What do you mean ?
If it's about official packaging process, I don't know how it is done on Ubuntu, but I guess they are enough smart to just rebuild official Debian package with adjusted package version string.

Hi,

Irrlicht has already have an ITP as I know, maybe a DD will do it...

To do an official Debian package, you need sponsorship of an official Debian dev. and go through a lot of step.

Games::Irrlicht (Perl binding) Revival

Hi,

this is my 1st post here just to say to Perl coder here they will be able to use Irrlicht in theirs scripts (a bit) soon.

I've just start to work on it and with previous, and last, release (designed for a very old release ...
