This is the call stack, the IrrSceneLoader class is where the debugger freaks out:

Irrlicht.dll!005b798c()

IFileList* Access Violation in Debug (Not in Release)

Currently, my code works fine in Release mode, but if I run it in debug mode I get Access Violation message.

Here is my relevant code:

Would say that's not a problem for the Irrlicht forum. But just to let you know, I'm planning on using PhysX in my project, and Praetor is working on creating a new Wrapper for Irrlicht.

Rogerborg,

You bring up an important point. I now realize that it is time to figure out what license etc... we need for our creative project. I'm not sure which license is best for our purposes, any suggestion would be very nice :).

Our plan is to:
1. Form a team, and gain close relationship
2 ...

Thanks for the answers, that clears up a lot.

However, I would respectfully suggest that you ask contributors to either assign copyright to you, or at least explicitly license their contributions. Friends and potential partners do split up, and the time to think about who owns what is before that ...

You might get some good help there ^^
No offense Monochrome, but I don't think I'm going to find good coders that are familiar with Irrlicht at that site. Thanks though.

That's an interesting concept, although I'm not clear on what Etienne's goals are (i.e. what's the point of the game?)
The character Etienne's goals are to learn from his teacher, and take a path to the other existence. The story eventually concludes with Etienne escaping reality and permanently ...

New Project - FLASHOVER - Looking for Coders [Help Wanted]

Hi all,

I would like to announce my personal project, Flashover. This game is a 3d Adventure with a over-the-shoulder view camera system (Like Fable/Gothic/Assasin's Creed).

The game is rather fantasy genre, though loosely based off of 13th Century France during the Albegensian Crusade (In the ...

Thanks Night_Hawk! I really appreciate you giving me that link.

So, you are wondering my reasons from your last post. I won't lie, I'm not terribly interested in learning how to program physics. I just need something to work with my game, and the physics included in Irrlicht doesn't have great ...

Does anyone have a copy of this Ageia PhysX wrapper? The links are old and dead, and a PhysX wrapper is exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm guessing your HUD is 2d, so what I would do here is sprite animation.

That would be explained in this Irrlicht tutorial:
http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/tut006.html

The time code in the draw loop controls the texture swap.

Anyone else have another method?

Ageia PhysX - Character Controller Integration (Need Help)

Hi all,

If anyone is using Ageia PhysX in with Irrlicht, is there any chance someone could post a tutorial on integrating the Character Controller? The basic integration tutorial worked great!

I'm guessing the approach would be to extend the CAnimatedMeshSceneNode class for adding the Character ...
