i haven't done much research yet i have to admit
which of the programs you mentioned (or similar ones) are free and about as easy to learn as irrlicht?

at good resolutions fraps has a high impact on the framerate

is there a good, easy & free aniamtion program (equivalent to irrlicht)?

we are currently planing on doing some no-budget movie-making
when i was told about irrlicht i looked through it and was quite impressed
i wonder if it could be used for movie effect
-animated titles/credit-sequences
-animated laser beams coming of "real"-weapons (=toys/props)
-sparks
-completely ...

is it possible to make irrlicht not ouput to the monitor but instead into an avi or a series of picture-files (with constant fps)?
[of course that'll only work on noninteractive sequences]

if not would it be hard for one of the good programmers here to code this?
