Final Fantasy VI should be made into a movie.
I've never played Xenogears, but I hear it's great. About FFVIII, that was very, very good imho, but really, the storyline is complete. The characters have completed their destiny and are free to do whatever they want now. So unless you want Squall and Rinoa: The Marriage Years, I don't see how a sequel could be made, unless Seifer tries to get revenge or something. And if that's the case, it wouldn't be much different than FF7:AC.
EDIT: Sorry, I ddn't mean to multi-post up there.

Spoilers ahead...
Final Fantasy X was the best storyline in the series? All they did was recycle characters from previous games, changing bits and pieces of back story. Tidus is suspiciously similar to Zidane, who reminded me a lot of Cloud. The three of them found out that they're either genetically manipulated, an alien, or a dream. Different elements, but the same overall formula.
And when Auron joined the party was I the only one asking when Vincent switched from guns to swords?
Then there's Sin. When they made it a point to say that Tidus' father was missing I immediately knew he either became Sin or was in control of it. During the cutscenes with Sin I kept expecting to hear him say in a deep voice "If you only knew the power...." Either way I knew that you'd be fighting Jecht either at the end or close to it.
Seems like the entire story was just stapled together from old movies, books, games, etc., with characters passed on down from FFVII. The only real surprise was that you could get Seymore/Seifer/Sephiroth's mother as an aeon.

FFX was never my favorite, either. Well, FFVI's story was extremely original; the only thing I can think of that was from another work of fiction were Biggs and Wedge, and that was just to be funny anyway. Speaking of which, if an FFVI movie were made, it would be funny if the guys that played Biggs and Wedge in SW played Biggs and Wedge in this.
