Hello.

Wat program should i use to Make maps?
I used maplet 3D, and wanted to use it, but as soon as i export a .x file, i cant load it on irredit, and dont kno how to fix it.

Any suggestion?

I use 3ds max 9, lightwave 3d ( with 3ds export ) , and photoshop 7

the trick to using 3ds max is simple.

download panda direct x exporter for 3ds max and install it. ( drop the -plugin in the plugins folder according to the instructions)

make your model and use panda to export it.

now , if you are making animated chars or what ever, when you make your biped object, use the schematic view to change the part names to Direct x nameing conventions BEFORE you export them.

i.e a part named "left foot" you would change to "left_foot"

this eliminates the need to use mview to fix the model, course you can still use mview to see what its gonna looklike but there is no need to resave it if you name everything correctly in max.
