Needed/Wanted Feature
I've searched the forums and can't find this information. If it's there, I missed, so if it is, feel free to post links instead of answering yourself. As of now, as far as I know, Animated mashes cannot use the Parallax/Normal Mapped materials because the animated meshes can't use tangent vertices( or whatever the correct words are). Is this something planned to implement or has someone already done it so I can modify irrlicht with it. I know Ogre3d can do this easily, but i don't want to switch to Ogre3d due to many issues(size, ease of use, etc...) so can someone help me with this. If it's already planned out for a future(soon) version of Irrlicht, I can wait, but I would like to know. Thanks in advance.
Yeah, b3d meshes can use tangent vertices now (as a runtime option), I've given the patch to bitplane, so when he commits it, it will be in the SVN.Animated mashes cannot use the Parallax/Normal Mapped materials because the animated meshes can't use tangent vertices
by the way with the new animation system, all types of animated meshes will be able to use tangent vertices.

Sweeeet. I've seen the post on your animation system. Looks good to me. I new that was coming, but I didn't know it could use tangent vertices. I had understood it was like just adding another if to some function. I really appreciate your contributions to the engine. Hopefully I'll be able to commit something useful, even if it is just another game, but with source code including so the noobs can learn sice we all are noobs for a while.
yeh i ran into this before too. I also am really looking forward to the new animation system
Didn't know about the support for it in b3d though, thanks for the tip!
My irrlicht-based projects have gone underground for now, but if you want, check out my webcomic instead! http://brokenboomerang.net
