the results in treegen remind me somewhat of klasker trees, i wonder if they used a similar algorithm?

As far as I know, the free Bryce 5 was only a limited time promotional offer. Terragen is free for non-commercial use only, and Earth Sculpter, if it's not abandonware, looks like it may go shareware or commercial in the future.
Those of you who were fortunate enough to get in on the free Bryce 5 offer, in order to get trees into Irrlicht you'll have to billboard them, since there's no way to export them (unless I missed a command, in which case I wouldn't mind being corrected on this point).
