Is it possible for readers (users) on this discussion board to sort messages (both
ascending and descending) based on:
- no of reads
- no of replies
- thread starter
- thread topic

Currently the way it is organized is only the latest messages appear at the
top.

When the no of postings were fewer, it was easier to go through all of them,
but now as I am seeing more and more posts per day ( and that is good) it is
getting difficult for me to quickly get a snapshot of the forum. Having this
feature would also make it easier for new members to this forum (and that group
includes me too) quickly understand popular message threads and see what our
favourite posters have to say before we newbies got here

PS- yes I am aware I may not have got my own settings organized, in which case
please do not hesitate to tell me...and yes I am aware (and thankful) for the
icon based rating of messages that appear beside each post.

The same for me, so I don't know if it is possible. I took a look at the adminstration page, and I did not see an option for this, so I don't think this is possible with phpBB.

I found couple of useful (although round about ways to do what I had originally asked)

Goto the Memberlist and select the sort options from there, so one can sort by:
- member name
- Total posts

of course once one views a member's profile then one can choose to veiw all posts made by that member (thereby seeing all posts by a particular member).

And to get a quick snapshot (simply click on the Last Poster's name on the thread and one immediately jumps to the most recent post in that thread)
