LOD on edges of terrain

Post by monkeycracks »

Is it possible to disable the LOD of an ITerrainSceneNode of the very edges of the terrain? My terrain has a hill that fits with the next terrainSceneNode and with the LOD it doesn't match up correctly until up close..

Any way to change this? I dont' want to completely disable LOD, just on the very edges.

You'd have to modify the source code and it would be a pain. Easiest way would be to modify it so edge "patches" are always LOD 0.

The best way, would be to do like the TiledTerrainManager in IRRspintz does, and make the LODs between 2 terrain nodes next to each other, match up on the end.

More and more everyday makes me want to switch to IrrSpintz, however... I can never get it to compile with dev-cpp. Perhaps I'll give it a try again later.

And yeah..I'm just going to leave it the gently caress alone for now unless someone else has an easier more practical solution.
