My hosting company shut it down, deleting the entire account without warning - including databases, email addresses and all the subdomains and files, citing "abuse" reasons for running a file hosting service. Of course they didn't mention this when I signed up (although I specifically asked about it), and the only mention of it in their ToS is "all abuse decisions are final". Pricks.

The provider is www.rhserve.com, for anyone that needs to avoid them.

I have one complete backup from sometime around July last year, my more recent backups (only as recent as January this year) are on a dead hard drive, I haven't had any luck getting this data off yet. However, the fault is intermittent (the drive mechanism ceases up after an arbitrary time, which crashes my computer), so there is at least some chance i can get this data back.

One day soon (not this month though), I'll get a Linux web server running on my network, upgrade my broadband to ADSL2, and run it from home with a cool 100gb of space allocated and no limit on uploads and stuff.

What is gdlib?
If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Not to be confused with the gd graphics library, it was "the game developers library", a cms site I started a couple of years back for holding stuff like free textures, code snippets, links to apps and libraries, also a place for people to upload their games and stuff.
It only had about 30 members but there was some useful stuff up there - graphics tutorials by afecelis, some free games, a few scene nodes and bits of useful code people had made but had nowhere to put them (other than 1-click file hosts, how I hate those things!)
The main library part focused on stuff that was 100% free for commercial use, but I also gave away subdomains to hungry members of the irrlicht community for whatever purpose.. it was also my testing ground for some php/mysql projects i was playing with at the time (realnews.gdlib.net, convert.gdlib.net).
I was pretty pissed off when they closed the account, it only used about 500mb and was filled with interesting stuff :(

i'll have something up and running eventually, but i doubt it will be for another couple of months, and it won't be like the old site.
a cms isn't really the best place for code like nodes, animators, loaders etc.. all that should be put here instead (pm/email me for write access if you want to contribute your creations)
