I havnt looked at much of the Irrlicht tutorials, but I have tried to load a Call of Duty level by using the Quake3Map tutorial. I have a .pk3 file with only one CoD map in it, and replaced only the locations of the .pk3 and the .bsp files which were to be opened...

The pk3 file contains a .bsp file, a .gsc file, and a .arena file. when i compile and run the program, it gets the error: "Could not load mesh, because file could not be opened.: file.bsp" I dont know what the problem is, please help!

Perhaps Call of Duty Maps have got a format, which is a bit different from the Quake3Map format.
Can you load original Quake3Maps with your program?

And what's about loading the pk3 file, which is included in the Irrlich SDK?
Is there the same error?
And after all, what is the error exactly? Doesn't the game do nothing? Or is there a Message or something (perhaps in the console window)

Well Peter Müller, the game fails to load any map, and since that is the only action in the tutorial i am trying, it basically does nothing. I am assuming that in order for Irrlicht to not load the .bsp file, it would first have to access the .pk3 file, but to my knowledge the .pk3 file is loading without error. As for any error message, i'll paste it again from my first post, in case you didnt catch it the first time:

Well i just donwloaded Irrlicht 6.0 and now the user-made quake3 map i downloaded works fine, but the call of duty map still can't load because of an improper header file. While i'm pretty much giving up now, if someone can tell me what i would have to do to get that wokring it would still be appreciated.

hey ho
i have an problem which is simular to your one XD
but this time i compiled an Q3 map myself with QUARK
but everytime i try to loadthe map nothing happens
the console says:
i locked into my pk0 file and noticed that the ".aas" file is missing...
hov to get it?

Try the combination GtkRadiant-q3map2. You can generate a .bsp and the .aas file easily. I suppose the problem with your level is that there is no light source... Check this tuto to setup GtkRadiant environment...Fragmaster wrote:i have an problem which is simular to your one XD
