The price of the AMD QuadCore equals the price of the Core 2 Duo and is less than the Core 2 Extreme and Intel Quadcore by ~$600.
Now which do you choose?

I used to be an avid fan of AMD but I have to admit, at the moment Intel have the better chip.

for a long time AMD were best for games with higher average FPS, whilst intel peaked higher they had less consistency and higher frequency of lows.
Currently Intel seem to have overtaken AMD and here in the US the quad core chips arent that expensive.
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 & Asus P5N-E SLI Motherboard $378.99
