phpbb Avatars are removed?

2 days ago internal phpbb avatars was dissabled, right?
So, this is temporarily or we must set up aur avatar pictures like external links?

I'm pretty sure it has been that way for a long time. I know that when I started using these forums I had to link to an image. Uploading was not allowed/working.

Ah this is my fault, sorry. Ever since SF turned off the ability for php to write to their webservers, people have complained that they can't upload avatars.
Only people who uploaded them before this change can have site hosted ones.
A couple of days ago I noticed that the settings allowed me to turn off the option, so I tried it, but unfortunately it looks like it has disabled the old avatars too. I've turned it back on again, hopefully it didn't flush the table

edit: it didn't break anything, you can have your avatar back
