Currently the motion trails are only working under OpenGL but if anyone is interested I can port them to DirectX as well and post the code.

Motion Trails
I wrote some code to simulate streamers for a game I worked on a few years ago. They could interact with the propwash, the wind and the ground, so they blew around and stuck to the ground. That was a fun project.
