Re: Industry Implications
I don't undertand the questiondejai wrote:What are the industry implications of a developer who breaches his responsibilities to there customers? (not an assignment for IST or anything :/)
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was in the above question referring to the implications of a software developer whom is the author of a product which breaches the responsibilities which a developer has to his patrons. I am sorry if this was unclear to you.
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn defines industry as:
"The people or companies engaged in a particular kind of commercial enterprise; "each industry has its own trade publications"
Now the question I previously wrote could be expressed in following. What are the implications a developer must face in relation to his/ her industry when they produce a product which breaches the responsibilities the developer has to his customers.
This answer is taken from a HSC textbook as to the rights and responsibilities of a software developer.
Rights and responsibilities of software
developers
Development of software solutions carries with it a number of rights and responsibilities.
Software developers have the right to be acknowledged as the author of an application in
the same way that a composer has the right to acknowledgment for a tune. Software authors
also have responsibilities towards the users of their software. These responsibilities include:
• claiming authorship only of what they have written themselves
• creating reliable software
• creating quality software
• responding to problems
• following an ethical code of conduct
• preventing the spread of viruses.
Meanwhile, I have relised this was a stupid question on my behalf, sorry and I have now resolved the issue. Thanks for your time, caps were really not nessary, I can read lowercase letters. Infact it would have been more acceptable to use a "!" or an eclipses "..." . Also adding to this maybe the use of pesudo code instead of caps would also have the same effect (But yes I get the point sorry I think I should have posted this in the off - topic sector ... ) .
