Drupal - Should Be Used for A Development Blog

Post by dejai »

I have just installed a fresh version of Drupal on my server. I must say I am very impressed at the quality of the project. I was able to go straight into the control panel and create content either in a blog format or in a more formal static page like format. I enabled a plug in / module to allow for a blog to be implemented and I an easily acess the members lists and edit individuals preferences.

I installed a fresh simple theme that just seems to work. The theme is labelled "Dreamy" and it just works its smooth and looks great. Yet I suppose this is just my opinion and I have experience with other CMS and LMS systems such as Moodle and Joomla.

I believe that Drupal will be more successful than the above because it simplifies the process but gives you the option to complicate it where you want to! Its a perfect example of a modular system, completely open to developers to develop what they want when that want!

I am estatic about the whole system. Please post your views on CMS's and what you use for your website/'s,

If you would like to see my website in action with Drupal:

I have used Drupal for a few websites and i also am very happy with it. The latest website is one for the family, where each account is allowed to upload files, pics, movies etc so that the rest of the family can view vacations and whatnot. I even setup a few chat areas so that family recipes will be easily viewed. We even have a chatroom for contact information so that when folks move, change phone numbers etc... we can all keep track of it. Birthdays and anniversaries are there too. It is very powerful and it allows me to be responsible for the website and allow the users to be responsible for the content of the website.

Wow, that sounds great! Drupal is very modular and customizable which I think makes it applicable to more situations than other popular CMS such as Joomla.
