Animating sydney.md2

Post by kulanuja »

Hi,

Just a quick question. Can I animate sydney.md2 to perform normal human gestures like moving hand, head etc. depending on some points in space?

I am good at programming but hardly know anything of modelling, meshing etc.

I am working on an academic project. Please help me.

Thanks.

Animating a mesh model is better done in a 3D modeling software (which you can find a list of on the irrlicht forum). Look up key-frame animations to get started.

Hope it helps!

yes but I guess it can be obtained by skeletal animation maybe using a .x file or some different file format.
But unfortunately I did not find any useful documentation/example/tutorial explaining skeletal animation.
Does anyone know where I can find one??

Well, this is not an Irrlicht specific task, so take any general 3d animation tutorial. And yes, skeletal animation is definitely the way to go here.
