I remember irrlicht being the will'o'wisp. A blob of light... (at least that's how RPGs showed the Will'o'wisp to me).
But in the end, it's the artist's imagination that counts, right? I'd love to see a mascot for irr.

I translated the name of Irrlicht and it was "Crazy light" in english. What about like, some lightning creature?.

irrlicht = crazylight???
well i don't think so. an irrlicht is a light thats guiding you the wrong direction.
its more like a ghost fire/light or something like that.

Virion: that looks fantastic, and I actually like the idea of this being the mascot. I was expecting a badly modeled anime character that can't be vectorized or stylized in anyway
On a side note, it would be great to use in examples as you could use box hit testing
Edit: what did you use to model it?
Blender has a fantastic animating system

Hey, that is a pretty good job Virion. When did your 3D modeling skills get so good?

Sweet, this can go hand in hand with some flashy new examples material, maybe for 1.5

I think a mascot would be quite cool and though this is a great model i'm not sure it would be right for Irrlicht....
